Sleep deprivation can be a problem in most teenagers and can affect them in many ways. In the article “Hard Lessons in Sleep for Teenagers” written by Jane E. Brody, it talks about how many people, especially teens, are not getting the suggested amount of sleep. Since teenagers are juggling exams, homework, sports, and social activities, they are not getting enough hours of sleep. As said by Dr. Owens, “The level of impairment associated with sleep-deprived driving is equivalent to driving drunk.” (Cited in Brody) No one would want their kids to be driving drunk. But little do they know, driving sleep-deprived is just as bad. Based on this essay, it is obvious that teens not getting enough sleep can be a big problem.
